[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), the largest international trade association for permanently situated amusement facilities worldwide, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations to be responsible, through collaboration with the President and CEO, for effective operational and membership management of the Association. The Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations is responsible for the successful achievement of corporate goals and oversees the Association’s growth and global infrastructure to include membership, communications, education, talent and IAAPA’s Regional Offices.

Ideal candidates will have an undergraduate degree in business or a related field and a Master’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should also have at least 10 years of broad-based senior management experience with revenues of at least $25 million. Knowledge of the global entertainment or the amusement park industry is preferred. The COO/EVP should have a proven ability to anticipate, plan, design or respond effectively to opportunities to enhance the Association’s success. This role requires outstanding presentation, written and oral communications skills as well as demonstrated interpersonal effectiveness. This includes the ability to interact effectively with a broad range of stakeholders – colleagues, subordinates, members, partners, government officials, among others – on behalf of the Association.

To be considered, a candidate must actively demonstrate the ability to navigate and operate as a chief operational officer. They should be capable of managing complex programs and functions while effectively leveraging new and existing stakeholder relationships. Those with proven experience introducing and facilitating change, as well as operating a multi-million dollar budget in a complex operational, financial and membership-driven environment will be strongly considered. Sound understanding and appreciation of fiscal responsibility and internal controls is a must. Understanding of global business concepts and experience working in a global environment will also be helpful.

The COO/EVP of Worldwide Operations must use a systems-thinking approach to understand and solve complex issues. This includes effectively engaging other leaders across and outside of the organization to work in a collaborative way that leads to innovative solutions, program transformation and member impact to benefit both internal and external stakeholders.

A high degree of organizational skill and outstanding analytical skills balanced by practical, strategic management expertise are necessities to be successful in this position, as well as strong problem solving and project management skills.
