Demographically homogenous groups of people often hold CEO and C-suite positions within associations. This paradigm hinders organizations’ ability to fully leverage the benefits of equity, diversity, inclusion and justice in their strategic decision making and operations and limits opportunities for racial, ethnic and gender minority leaders to advance their careers. C-suite diversity is vital for associations with objectives to attract a diverse workforce or broaden their impact in new and diverse communities. We designed this webinar to help organizational leaders better understand the systemic barriers that perpetuate inequities and limit BIPOC candidates from accessing executive-level positions within associations and to offer strategies for promoting EDIJ in leadership pipelines.

During this webinar, participants will:

  • Examine how systemic biases, discriminating practices and antiquated policies and structures limit opportunities for BIPOC professionals to access leadership roles within associations.
  • Hear from executive search consultant leaders about common barriers to achieving executive positions within associations.
  • Learn about best practices for building more inclusive and equitable leadership pipelines, including recruitment, mentorship and professional development programs.
  • Gain insights on how to mitigate the impact of unconscious bias in hiring and promotion processes.
  • Explore strategies for fostering a culture of equity, diversity, inclusion and justice within associations and promoting accountability and transparency in leadership pipelines.
