Angela Saunders works with Nonprofit HR’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) consulting team to facilitate DEI training solutions and assessment services for nonprofit and social sector clients. Angela is passionate about DEI work and co-leads Nonprofit HR’s DEI Advisory Team, which is tasked with guiding leadership on internal DEI matters and developing the strategic plan to establish the foundation and direction of the firm’s DEI efforts. Her areas of expertise include HR leadership and strategic management, training and workforce development, performance management, policy development, employee and labor relations, and talent acquisition. Within these areas of expertise, Angela has assisted clients in reviewing their policies and practices through a DEI lens.
She has over 10 years’ experience as an independent consultant, originally launching her business by providing writing and editing services. She expanded her service offerings to include HR consulting in 2015 and has served as in-house HR leader for nonprofit organizations in the Washington, D.C. region.
Angela holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Master of Science in Management/Human Resources Management Specialization from University of Maryland University College. Angela has acquired the Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.
She is a national SHRM member and serves on the board of directors for the Human Resource Society of Prince George’s County, a SHRM affiliate chapter. Angela is also an adjunct human resources professor at Prince George’s Community College and a Notary Public for the State of Maryland.
