Angela Saunders works with Nonprofit HR’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) consulting team to facilitate DEI assessment services, strategy development, and training solutions for nonprofit and social sector clients. Angela co-led Nonprofit HR’s inaugural DEI Advisory Team, which was tasked with offering thought partnership to leadership on internal DEI matters and developing a strategic plan to guide the direction of the firm’s DEI efforts. In addition to DEI, her areas of expertise include HR leadership and strategic management, training and workforce development, performance management, policy development, employee and labor relations, and talent acquisition. Within these areas of expertise, Angela has assisted DEI clients in reviewing their HR policies and practices through a DEI lens.
She has over 15 years’ experience as an independent consultant, originally launching her business by providing writing and editing services. She expanded her service offerings to include HR consulting in 2015 and has served as in-house HR leader for nonprofit organizations in the Washington, D.C. region.
Angela holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Master of Science in Management/Human Resources Management Specialization from University of Maryland Global Campus. Angela has acquired the Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.
She is a national SHRM member and serves on the board of directors for the Human Resource Society of Prince George’s County, a SHRM affiliate chapter. Angela is also an adjunct human resources professor at Prince George’s Community College.
