As Business Development Director, Deanna Balkcom focuses her efforts on managing a comprehensive sales function for the firm’s staffing and human resources consulting business; developing new client business; obtaining and maintaining client accounts; and engaging in business development activities that generate revenue and results across the firm. Deanna manages, develops, and leads sales conversations and opportunities and works toward expanding sales by researching new business within identified target markets including, but not limited to, Chicago and New York.
Deanna brings over a decade of diverse business development experience with large and mid-sized organizations in various industries including consulting, technology, education, retail, and training with a keen understanding of market dynamics that positively and adversely impact sales growth. Deanna excels at collaborating in a dynamic, cross functional environment and building consensus as a servant leader providing thought leadership. She has expertise at integrating sales goals with broader business objectives and has in-depth knowledge of establishing and building relationships with C-suite leaders. She is also experienced at recruiting, training, and managing successful sales teams and has outstanding communication and business acumen competencies.
Deanna holds a Society of Human Resources Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation. Deanna has earned a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University. Currently, she is working toward a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Innovation at St. Thomas University.
Deanna lives in Connecticut and is an avid reader who enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially at the beach!
