Melody Burton is a Senior Consultant within the firm’s Strategy & Advisory practice. Melody brings over 20 years of talent development experience, focused on aligning talent to company strategy and strengthening diverse client service teams. Melody provides strategic thought partnership to clients through guidance, insight and direction on complex talent management initiatives including workforce planning, HR assessments and audits, organizational culture assessments, employee engagement, change management and performance management.
Prior to joining Nonprofit HR, Melody founded Melody Burton Talent Management which focused on supporting national and global leaders in aligning talent through competency-based leadership development and coaching. In addition, she served as the Director of Professional Development at an Am Law 100 firm where she provided strategic direction in the development and engagement of the firm’s 1,400+ U.S. attorneys including programming, career development, client training and professional development technology-based solutions.
Melody received her bachelor’s degree from DePaul University, attended Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management for Executive Education and the Center for Creative Leadership. She received her coaching certification from the ATD and is Hogan Certified. Melody is also trained in Project Management using Lean Six Sigma methodology. Melody currently resides in the Chicago area (Oak Park) with her family and enjoys historic home renovation, volunteer service within nonprofits and social change organizations, and cooking with an eye towards all things spicy.
