Merrill Santacqua’s background consists of experience in social work, communications and EDIJ. She has served in a variety of leadership roles for mission-driven organizations. Merrill is experienced in developing and coordinating programs for people with disabilities, the LGBTQ+ community and abuse survivors. In past positions, she has assisted organizations by looking at their policies, training procedures and environments. She has helped organizations make changes that keep them compliant with regulations while promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Merrill is also an experienced grant writer and has supported grant-funded organizations at all stages in the grant process, from writing proposals to data collection, analysis and compliance. Additionally, she has developed curricula and presentations on a wide range of topics and is an experienced facilitator. She has facilitated webinars for a variety of organizations and state agencies. Merrill is passionate about supporting organizations in creating cultural shifts through education, policy, community building and reflection.
Merrill has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Simmons University in Communications and Graphic Design and has taken graduate courses in education, social work and identity development. Additionally, she has certifications in topics including LGBTQ+ SAFE Zone, the American Disability Act, the Fair Housing Act, the Architectural Barriers Act, and Non-Profit Development. Merrill resides on Cape Cod in Massachusetts with her partner and their four children. She loves spending time at the beach, creating art and taking care of her plants.
