Sara Melita brings 25+ years of nonprofit and for-profit sector experience in her role as a Senior Consultant in the Strategy & Advisory practice. Sara partners with leadership teams to align their people strategies with organizational priorities. She specializes in facilitating change by providing coaching to nonprofit executives as they navigate the challenges associated with transformations. She is adaptable and versatile with experience that ranges from working with the board to manage executive performance and compensation to designing and delivering frontline employee skill-building programs. For 10 years prior to Nonprofit HR, Sara wore numerous hats at the George Washington University advising senior leadership, implementing change initiatives and developing programs to improve the performance of individuals and teams. She spent more than a decade serving in various roles at a technology company which she describes as her “first career,” before she found her calling to focus on mission-oriented work with nonprofits.
Sara holds a master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland. She is certified to administer Myers-Briggs (MBTI), Korn Ferry Lominger Leadership Architect and Team Architect, True Colors and was a master trainer for the Achieve Global Leadership and Management Curriculums.
