Boca Helping Hands (BHH), a 501(c)3 corporation, is the premiere social services agency serving southern Palm Beach County utilizing a holistic approach to combat the issues of poverty. Originally founded in 1998 as a “soup kitchen” BHH’s impact and services have expanded dramatically to include Daily Hot Meals, Pantry Bag Distribution, Weekend Backpacks, Emergency Financial Assistance, Job Mentoring, Job Training, Medical and Dental Clinics. Guided by the Vision 2020 Strategic Plan, BHH focuses on job training programs and health/wellness programs to prepare clients to “cross the bridge from a life of assistance to one of self-sufficiency.”
BHH has exclusively retained Nonprofit HR to assist in its recruitment efforts for its next Executive Director. The position of Executive Director is a critical and visible position requiring strong business (financial, operations) and development experience. Reporting to the President & CEO, the Executive Director provides inspiring leadership to the Mission and Vision within the boundaries, prudence and principles established by the Board. As the primary spokesperson for BHH, the Executive Director will promote and enhance BHH’s visibility and influence by proactively elevating its impact, image and presence in the community as a means of enhancing and expanding the programs targeted in the Strategic Plan.
The Executive Director will be responsible for successful development, promotion, and implementation of BHH’s Vision 2020 Strategic Plan and for ensuring the efficient ongoing operation of BHH and advancing its growth. The Executive Director will manage, maintain, allocate, and develop BHH’s human and financial resources and has central responsibility to maintain a positive image for BHH and ensure effective liaison with local government representatives, foundations, community and partner organizations, and local businesses.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the following disciplines: i.e. Business Management, Organizational Effectiveness, or related field, and a minimum of 10 years of management experience of which at least seven years should include experience successfully managing a nonprofit organization at a strategic and leadership level, or leading a business that has demonstrated growth and profitability. The Executive Director must also have passion for our Mission, Vision, and work. S/He will manage the development and implementation of programs that effectively deliver BHH‘s mission to provide food, medical and financial assistance to meet basic human needs as well as education, job training and guidance to create self-sufficiency.
The Executive Director must have experience creating and maintaining an organizational culture that attracts, motivates, and retains a diverse, talented staff to blend skill sets, meet objectives, and provide efficient program execution. The position requires someone with exceptional leadership presence and experience serving as a spokesperson for an organization and demonstrated understanding of how to leverage organizational visibility and credibility and brand recognition through the media and other public relations sources to drive capacity.
