The National 4-H Council, one of the nation’s largest youth development organizations, empowering millions of young people throughout the United States, seeks a dynamic and highly‐skilled and experienced individual who is an enthusiastic, diligent, and motivated professional to serve as the Special Assistant to the President & CEO.

The Special Assistant has significant responsibilities related to the overall communication, efficiency and daily operations of the Executive Office. This is a professional level position that provides principal support to the President & CEO including calendar and complex international and domestic travel management, collaboration with the organization’s executive leadership team, extensive project management that includes research, analysis, and facilitation with the Executive Leadership team on behalf of the President & CEO. This individual also works closely with the CEO and other senior management staff on activities related to the strategic plan, anticipating and fulfilling requirements to manage workflow and achieve a productive work environment. The incumbent works independently, uses sound judgment in a variety of situations and demonstrates a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality, quality, and discretion on a consistent basis.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 7-10 years’ experience supporting C-suite executives in a similar capacity, preferably with a nonprofit/youth development organization; advanced skills in executive office management and interfacing with leadership staff and Board of Directors; demonstrated experience that reveals proven abilities in exercising professional judgment; managing conflict; working with multiple, concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. Outstanding customer service orientation including the ability to interact with all stakeholders professionally and effectively; must be able to maintain highly confidential information and demonstrate tact and discretion at all times; outstanding listening, interpersonal and communication skills including ability to communicate orally and write and present effectively and concisely to a wide variety of audiences; high level of integrity and personal accountability; and technologically savvy across all platforms including advanced level skills in using Microsoft Office applications to run a busy executive office.
