WTOP: 5 ways nonprofits can…
The Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) empowers people to ride bikes, build connections, and transform places. WABA envisions a just and sustainable transportation system where walking, biking, and transit are the best ways to get around. The member-supported organization, founded in 1972, serves the Washington, DC metropolitan region. WABA has exclusively retained Nonprofit HR to conduct a recruitment campaign for its next Executive Director.
WABA’s next Executive Director will lead the organization through its next phase of growth, grounded in equity and justice. They will rally the region—staff, supporters, funders, and beyond—around an inspiring, inclusive vision.
Because fundraising underpins WABA’s success in its mission, the next Executive Director will invest much of their time and energy in cultivating relationships, building excitement around a compelling future, and integrating fundraising into every aspect of the organization. The ED will have demonstrated experience in nonprofit fundraising: donor cultivation and stewardship, diversifying revenue streams, and establishing new, strategic partnerships.
