Salary Range: $150,000 – $165,000, commensurate with experience

We’re excited to announce a search for a Program Director to join the Center for Judaism, Israel, and Public Policy at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America in Washington, DC.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape some of the most important conversations taking place at the intersection of Jewish thought, public policy, Israel, and American democracy. The Center engages policymakers, thought leaders, and influencers through fellowships, seminars, convenings, and educational initiatives that bring Jewish ethical and moral perspectives into contemporary policy discussions and civic life.

Reporting to the Vice President, Educational Initiatives, the Program Director will play a pivotal role in advancing the Center’s mission and impact. This individual will lead the design and execution of high-profile programs, cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across the Washington ecosystem, and partner closely with faculty and senior leadership to create meaningful educational experiences for policymakers, community leaders, and influential voices.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in program leadership, public policy, education, government affairs, nonprofit leadership, or a related field, along with exceptional relationship-building, communication, and project management skills. This role is well-suited for a strategic thinker who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys bringing people and ideas together, and is passionate about creating programs that foster thoughtful dialogue and meaningful engagement.

This position is based in Washington, DC and offers a salary range of $150,000–$165,000, commensurate with experience, along with a competitive benefits package.
