Nonprofit HR Solutions, the nation’s leading consulting firm dedicated exclusively to meeting the human resources needs of nonprofit organizations, is growing rapidly and seeking a national Director of Business Development, Consulting Services.

The National Director of Business Development, Consulting Services is accountable for realizing the full potential of business development opportunities for Nonprofit HR Solutions’ consulting division including human resources outsourcing, project-based services and its virtual platform, The HR Cooperative. This individual will report to the President & CEO and work closely with the Senior Management Team to provide business development leadership of new brands, programs, service offerings and related business plans and strategies. This individual will establish and maintain outstanding and effective business relationships within the nonprofit sector to develop new business while building the firm’s reputation and image as a leading service provider.

The ideal candidate will be a rainmaker — someone who is radical, creative, entrepreneurial, highly motivated and who is seeking an opportunity to bring about transformational change to how the sector views human resources and talent management. The ideal candidate will also bring to the firm a wealth of established contacts from within and across the nonprofit sector as well as a proven understanding of issues, trends and practices (programmatic, financial, and human) impacting the sector nationally.

This individual will also need to demonstrate his/her understanding of and willingness to actively contribute to growing and expanding the firm’s offerings in a way that balances risk and reward while not compromising our values or our ability to consistently deliver outstanding service to those we serve.

The stellar candidate will have:

  • A demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the national nonprofit sector; familiarity with the Washington, DC and Chicago markets preferred.
  • A demonstrated track record of creating, implementing, and executing strategies to grow top and bottom line results.
  • Significant business analysis skills with ability to lead, counsel, and work collaboratively with Senior Management through business decisions that drive results.
  • Demonstrated ability to be entrepreneurial and innovative; proven ability to forecast business opportunities, write business plans and winning proposals, and have intuitive strengths to be proactive and not reactive.
  • A good balance of risk taking and judgment, confidence and assertiveness, open-mindedness and flexibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships, both internally with colleagues and Senior Management, as well as externally with current/prospective clients and sector leaders.
  • Outstanding communications, presentation and influencing skills to include the ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills that establish, foster and sustain trust, credibility, integrity, professionalism and excellent relationships quickly and effectively while maintaining an intentional focus on quality and client service.
  • Proven high levels of energy to include the ability to manage multiple demands, competing demands concurrently while traveling nationally.
  • Sensitivity to the firm’s needs and resources, client and employee goodwill, and our established public image.
  • Proven proficiency with all MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) databases. Reliable, regular off-site access to computer and Internet access also required.
