Meet
Alexandra McGroarty, CDP, CPC, SHRM-PASC
Alexandra McGroarty is a seasoned HR executive and strategic consultant with a deep commitment to helping mission-driven organizations build resilient, high-performing workforces. With extensive experience across nonprofit, healthcare and private sectors, she brings a steady hand to moments of transformation, having served in multiple interim leadership roles including Interim CHRO for a well-known arts and cultural center and Interim VP of Talent Acquisition for a Connecticut-based not-for-profit hospital system. In these positions, she led workforce restructuring, stabilized HR operations, designed talent strategies from the ground up, and worked directly with Boards and executive teams to align human capital efforts with broader organizational missions.
Alexandra is particularly skilled in conducting comprehensive HR assessments that identify systemic gaps in talent strategy, structure and culture. Her work consistently uncovers root causes and produces actionable plans tailored to the unique context of each organization. In a long-term engagement with a major New York-based hospital system, she led the design and implementation of a full-spectrum employee listening strategy — from pre-hire through retirement — which became a foundational component of the organization’s workforce engagement and DEI efforts. Her assessments often lead to enterprise-level shifts in succession planning, performance management and leadership development — areas where her frameworks have accelerated internal promotions and enhanced leadership readiness across the board.
She is also an expert in integrating and optimizing HR technology to drive data-informed decision-making and efficiency. Whether leading Workday or UKG implementations or aligning disparate systems post-merger, Alexandra ensures that HR operations support — not hinder — mission outcomes. Her approach blends strategic advisory with operational excellence, ensuring that tools like CultureAmp, Qualtrics, and Gallup are not only implemented effectively but used to foster transparency, accountability and inclusion. Her DEI work, in particular, has led to significant gains in leadership representation and employee engagement through targeted initiatives such as ERGs, mentorship programs and inclusive leadership coaching.
Alexandra holds a Master of Science in Administration from Utica College and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Organizational Development from Rowan University. She is a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP), a Certified Professional Coach (CPC), and holds additional credentials including the SHRM-PASC, Leading Through Personal Excellence, Social & Behavioral Researchers Certification, and a Corporate Sustainability Certificate. With this combination of academic rigor, professional training and hands-on experience, she brings a uniquely qualified and holistic perspective to the evolving HR needs of purpose-driven organizations.
