Debika Shome, CPCC, ACC

Debika coaches clients to be stronger, more confident leaders within their organizations. As a coach, Debika focuses on giving clients her undivided attention and asking the right questions to help them gain clarity, new perspectives, accountability and positive forward movement.

Debika’s coaching motto is, “I am the warm hug and the kick in the butt that nurtures and kindles authenticity in clients.” She works with her coaching clients to build trust, strengthen relationships and believe in themselves and their own abilities. Her coaching approach works to address client goals from multiple angles, by focusing on asking powerful questions and deeply listening while also providing clients with frameworks, assessments and templates they can use to manage and lead.

Before becoming a coach Debika worked in the nonprofit sector for over 25 years. During that time, she set up organizations, managed large teams and solved complex problems both internally and externally. Debika is the Co-Founder & Principal at Marigold Strategy, a social sector consulting company that works with nonprofit organizations, foundations and corporations to increase their social impact. Her work at Marigold Strategy focuses on strategy, capacity building and board/staff development. 

Debika is a certified ICF coach (ACC) trained through Co-Active Training Institute, CTI (CPCC). She has a graduate degree in public policy from University of Washington (MPA) and an undergraduate degree in environmental science from Barnard College, Columbia University (BA).
