Exploring the 3Vs: A Framework for Organizational Decision Making
Many organizations are grappling with dissatisfaction from their staff about their ability to inform decision making, especially when it has the potential to impact policies and practices that they experience on a daily basis. Leaders are now being scrutinized to offer greater insights into how decisions are made and to become more informed and effective decision makers. But how can leaders determine the best approach to gathering staff input to make a decision that is as inclusive and impactful as possible? A model that organizations could explore adopting is the 3V Framework for Decision Making. This model, which has been highly utilized by many of our clients, offers a clear guide, helping leaders (and all decision-makers) navigate different levels of transparency and determine when to apply the roles of Vote, Voice or View. This framework promotes a decision-making process that is rooted in proactive communication and increases transparency, engagement and a sense of belonging throughout an organization. |
